Hardy Exotics is at the heart of exotic gardening in the UK. We have developed a unique collection of exotic looking plants most of which are propagated and grown on site.

You can create an exotic looking garden almost anywhere in the country. Plenty of friendly advice is on hand to help you choose the plants suitable for your garden climate.

Hardy Exotics has a unique and unrivalled collection of over 1,500 species of plants ideal for exotic gardening. They have been gathered as seeds and cuttings and then developed in our nursery in Cornwall over the last thirty years. These include: Palms, Bananas, Canna and Ginger Lilies, Agaves, Gunnera, Echiums, Agapanthus, Bamboos, Grasses, Succulents, Voodoo Lilies, Exotic Trees, Shrubs, Climbers and hundreds more to turn your garden into an "Earthly Paradise"

'the curved-leaved Spanish dagger'

An upright, branching evergreen shrub to 2.5m high, with trunk-like stems and terminal rosettes of lance-shaped, stiff, arching to recurved leaves. Leaves are up to 90cm long, and blue-green when young, maturing to mid-green. Produces upright panicles of pendent, bell-shaped cream flowers from late summer to autumn.

Hardy-ness Zones

We are bursting at the seams with rare, unusual, weird and wonderful species. To help you choose plants suitable for your area of the country we have developed a zoning system. The British Isles is divided into eight zones and every plant on our list is allotted to the zones it can reasonably be expected to grow in.

If you have a question or query: on the hardy exotic plants we have in stock; have a problem locating an exotic; want to ask for some additional information on a particular exotic plant; then please message us and we will be happy to help.

If required we can provide an on-site consultation service with our experienced staff advising on planting plans and layouts.

We provide a hire service for events, exhibitions, campaigns and photo shoots. This varies from packing and despatching our exotic plants to the client location, through to our staff attending and setting up the plants ready for presentation.
